    PEN’s mission is to improve STEM learning outcomes in the Ghana education system by building teacher capacity. The teacher training programmes PEN provides is infused with MIT-style, learning-by-doing to enable hands-on science regardless of resource constraints. PEN offers a series of workshops where Ghanaian STEM teachers learn, design, and share hands-on activities which complement the national curriculum and are created from low-cost and locally available materials.

    JOB POSITION: Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation Manager

     

    SALARY RANGE: GHS 3,500.00 –GHS4,750.00(Gross)

     

    WORK STATION: Accra

     

    EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fixed Term (Full Time)

     

    EMPLOYMENT DURATION: 1 Year (Renewable. Includes three (3)months’ probation)

     

    JOB PURPOSE: To grow PEN’s tested approach for improving STEM education in the Ghanaian context through strategic partnerships. To foster sustainable and valuable partnerships between PEN and STEM education stakeholders through effective planning, development and management of resource mobilization strategies and activities with the aim of scaling up PEN’s hands-on STEM products and services.

     

    SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Develop and implement partnerships and resource mobilisation plans, strategies and activities.
    • Identify and engage relevant education stakeholders for strategic growth of PEN’s products and services
    • Prescribe, lead and conduct market research and marketing initiatives to assess donor priorities and identify opportunities for resource mobilisation.
    • Develop and ensure quality standards for proposals and concept notes and ensure achievement.
    • Develop and maintain a database of donors, project concept notes and project proposals.
    • Develop and maintain an effective project tracking system and ensure all donor funding requirements are met in any fundraising document
    • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Officer to produce content for communication materials in support of fundraisings such as brochures, appeals, newsletters, organisational capability statement and annual reports and their reviews.
    • Develop and coordinate online/web-based fundraising initiatives.
    • Produce quarterly fundraising status reports
    • Ensure compliance with donor contracts and support project officers to implement activities in line with the project deliverables and objectives.

    REPORTING:

    The Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation Manager shall report directly to the CEO.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:

    A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in international development, international relations and diplomacy, development studies and any other relevant field.

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    A minimum of 5 years experience in the not-for-profit sector working with development partners and raising funds/mobilizing resources for projects.

    LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

    Professional command on the English language is a minimum requirement.

    JOB PURPOSE: Practical Education Network (PEN) is accepting applications for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate person to occupy the Communications & Marketing Officer’s position. He/she will support PEN with communications and marketing skills, competencies, and experiences to increase the Organisation’s brand awareness and drive sales of PEN products and services. The individual must have a strong passion for STEM.

     

    SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Collaborate with Management to develop and implement effective communication and marketing strategies
    • Manage the organisation’s corporate branding in line with PEN Branding strategy and guidelines and ensure the maintenance of a good public image at all times
    • Responsible for the communication flow between PEN and its audience and stakeholders.
    • Ensure the effective management of the organisation’s website and social media platforms. 
    • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities, products and/or services and STEM education in Ghana. 
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key media organisations and professionals as well as influencers with the am of leveraging the relationships to increase brand visibility and advocacy around STEM in Ghana.
    • Visit schools and related institutions to market PEN products and services, especially the PEN Teacher Manuals, activity boxes and PEN Teacher Roadmap training package.
    • Undertake any task as assigned by Supervisor or the CEO.

    REPORTING:

    The Communications and Marketing Officer shall report directly to the Programmes Manager.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:

    Job applicants must possess a minimum of a first degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences or Marketing related fields. A second degree in Communications is an added advantage. Alternatively, interested individuals with STEM-related degrees but with working experience in communications; social media management and/or marketing also qualify to apply.

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    Job applicant must have a minimum of four (4) years post national service (Ghana) work experience in Communications and/or Marketing.
